Parbold Village Hall is a great example of a village hall that is used to it's full potential. Here at Parbold they screen films, have a Festival of Classical Music and the hall is used every night for various functions from martial arts to ballroom dancing. Thanks to all the people who came tonight, it really was a great turnout. Continue reading ...
Dean Row Village Hall October 13 2010

First visit to Cheshire, such a shame this lovely little gem of a venue isn't used more often. I've learned this year that almost every village in Britain has a village hall and a lot of them are criminally under used. People don't seem to realise this is part of our heritage and it's a shame they are not more widely utilised. Thanks to the ones who came. Continue reading ...

One of the most beautiful village halls in Lancashire, fantastic staff and great people. Good to see so many people here tonight including a couple who'd arrived on holiday from Ontario Canada the day before, hearing a Lancashire lad singing Johns songs in Mere Brow must have seemed very surreal. See you next year, brilliant night. Continue reading ...

Special thanks go out to Glenda Ross for setting up this concert, the people who came out to see the show tonight (and my goodness, weren't there a lot of you) had a great night and so did I. It always comes as something of a surprise to find that John's music is still very much alive and well in these communities and it's an honour to do my small part in keeping it alive.
